Internationalisation at Swinburne

Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus

Swinburne established Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak campus) in Malaysia, in 2000. There is extensive mobility of teaching staff between Swinburne Australia and our campus in Malaysia, and a range of joint teaching, research and staff and student mobility programs has been established in conjunction with our partner universities around the world.

Centre for Global Programs

Through its Centre for Global Programs (CGP) Swinburne offers courses in partnership with other universities around the world. It houses the Northeastern University Study Centre which manages the collaborative partnerships offered by Swinburne and Northeastern University, and is developing further partnerships with European universities.

Exchange Partner Network

Swinburne has developed student exchange agreements with over 50 institutions. Our partners are primarily based in Western Europe, North America, Scandinavia, Asia and the United Kingdom. This extensive network has allowed 16% of our undergraduate students to have an overseas study experience, well above the national average of 6%.

International Partnerships

As part of its international vision, Swinburne aims to develop collaborative arrangements with institutions around the world to deliver quality education outcomes for students.

To date, Swinburne has been successful in developing a diverse range of active institutional linkages and alliances in China, Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The European Consortium of Innovative Universities

Swinburne is the only Australian university invited to be a member of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), which aims to foster student and staff mobility and share innovative programs to give students a competitive edge in today's global employment market.

Community Colleges for International Development

In 2006 Swinburne became a member of the Community Colleges for International Development Inc. (CCID), a nonprofit consortium of U.S. and international colleges founded in 1976. Membership of this far-reaching network includes participation in international capacity building projects, contract training and student mobility programs.
