Swinburne Sarawak signs research deal with Biotech AllianceSwinburne’s Sarawak campus and Biotech Alliance International have joined forces in a collaborative research project to advance the rapid composting of organic wastes from oil palm processing.

The project will run over two years at a cost of RM745,502 and will be housed in Swinburne Sarawak’s recently completed science laboratories.

Professor Helmut Lueckenhausen, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Swinburne Sarawak, says the collaboration is a timely development in the university's plan to expand its activities into science and technology, and to grow its research profile with local industry.

“We are pleased to be working with Biotech Alliance on this venture,” he said.

“Swinburne Sarawak believes it has the capacity to make a significant contribution to agricultural sustainability in Sarawak and elsewhere as we have the research expertise and the technology for endeavours of this kind.”
