Swinburne one day, L'Oréal the next
June 2009
Exports and imports go hand in hand with international business. So when it came to choosing where to study her master degree, the decision was pretty easy for Romchat Lertharn.
“I wanted to study international business because I’d like to open my own export and import business,” she says.
Romchat decided on a Master of Business (International Business) at Swinburne after completing a Bachelor of Economics at Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand.
“I think I chose the right [master] course because not only did I get the knowledge about imports and exports, but I also gained other important knowledge, such as working in a multicultural environment.”
After returning to Thailand in 2008, Romchat secured a management trainee position with international cosmetics company L'Oréal. Over the next 12 months she will get to experience all the different areas in supply chain management before transferring to a permanent position to which her skills are best suited.
“A master degree is very important for Thai students nowadays,” she says. “And Swinburne is well-known to L'Oréal in Thailand, so it was much easier to get a job.”
