If you have received a conditional offer, you must fulfil the condition(s) stated in your offer.
Prior to or at the time of accepting your offer, you must provide evidence that you have met all conditions outlined in your letter of offer. If you do not provide this evidence, you will not be eligible to proceed with your enrolment or student visa application.
The type of evidence you must submit depends on the condition/s as listed on your letter of offer.
Examples include:
If you have received Advanced Standing (Credit Transfer/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/Exemptions) for previous studies, this will have been indicated in your letter of offer. The course duration shown on your letter of offer will reflect the amount of Advanced Standing you have received.
Actual details of exemptions will be determined at the time of enrolment. You must bring your original/certified copies of all academic transcripts and detailed syllabus of studies undertaken for verification at the enrolment session. The full amount of credit will only be granted upon provision of such information and evidence that the condition/s stated in your offer have been met.
If you have not requested Advanced Standing at the time of submission of your application you must request it within two weeks after your course commencement date.
The annual tuition fee listed in your letter of offer is based on the 'standard' annual study load for each course. You will be invoiced for fees based on your study load for each teaching period. Fees are determined by Swinburne on an annual basis and are subject to change. Students are expected to pay the applicable tuition fee at the time of enrolment. Students may be subject to a 6% increase on the applicable tuition fee payable in each subsequent year of enrolment.
You must sign your Offer Acceptance Form and send it to Swinburne before you pay the deposit.
The Australian Government requires all international students studying on a student visa (and their dependants) to maintain acceptable health and medical insurance during their entire stay in Australia. For most international students this means paying for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). OSHC provides medical and hospital cover for international students and their dependants whilst studying in Australia. OSHC may only be provided by a registered health provider as determined by the Australian Government.
For students who will be studying in Melbourne:
Visa Length OSHC is indicated in your letter of offer and is included in your total initial deposit required to accept our offer.
It is a DIAC requirement that you purchase Visa Length Cover. This method of payment is a once only payment which provides rate protection for the duration of the cover. This means that even if OSHC premiums increase during the time of your Visa Length Cover, you do not have to pay any increase.
Already have OSHC Cover?
You must still prove visa length cover. You need to provide evidence of your OSHC at the time of acceptance.
Please note that you will need to complete all of Section C of the Offer Acceptance Form.
Note for students requiring Family OSHC Cover: Please indicate this on the International Student Offer Acceptance Form, and include the Family OSHC premium in your deposit. Once you have arrived in Australia, you must make an appointment to see OSHC Worldcare representative to arrange to have your family details added to your OSHC membership.
Note for Norwegian and Swedish students: OSHC is not required by Norwegian students covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme, and Swedish students covered by CSN International, attending Australian education institutions (providing students have coverage under these schemes prior to leaving their home country).
Students who receive a letter of offer for the International Study Abroad Program will have the program fee per teaching period specified which allows students to undertake 50 credit points per teaching period.
Students who receive a letter of offer for the International Exchange program will have a tuition waiver.
All International Exchange and Study Abroad students are required to make payment for the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover at time of Offer Acceptance, as indicated on the Letter of Offer.
As the International Exchange and Study Abroad programs involve the study of units over one or two teaching periods, a full listing of pre-approved units chosen will be listed in your Letter of Offer on your Unit Selection Advice form. You must also submit the Unit Nomination Form with your Offer Acceptance to finalise your study plan.
For students studying in Melbourne, if you wish to change intake (a maximum of two intakes or up to one year is permitted), you must write to Swinburne International for approval. You must submit a personal statement and any additional academic documentation (if applicable) to advise of additional studies or activities undertaken. A revised letter of offer stating the new commencement date, may be issued if it assessed that you continue to meet the University's entry requirements and Australian regulatory requirements.
You must remain with Swinburne for the first six calendar months of your principal course. This restriction includes any preliminary courses prior to your pincipal course in a package offer.
Where a student requests a transfer within this period, Swinburne will assess the request against its International Student Enrolment and Tuition Fee Policy. Students will only be permitted to transfer in limited circumstances.
Therefore please ensure that you are happy with the course(s) you have been offered before accepting your offer.
There is no guarantee that you will be able to transfer to another course within Swinburne.
Therefore please ensure that you are happy with the course(s) you have been offered before accepting your offer.
