Find out if you are an international or domestic student

For Higher Education Courses

You are an international student if you are NOT:

• an Australian citizen
• a New Zealand citizen; or,
• a permanent resident of Australia (refer to list of permanent visa subclasses)

For TAFE Courses

You are an international student if you are NOT:

• an Australian citizen;
• a permanent resident of Australia;
• an East Timorese asylum seeker; or,
• a Temporary Protection Visa (TPV) holder.

If you are NOT SURE if you are a domestic or international student, submit a copy of your passport visa page to us and we will confirm your student status.
