All international students

 

Australian Government

The Australian Government's overseas aid program aims to increase access to and the quality of education and training for people in partner countries.

It brings under the one umbrella existing scholarship programs managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST), and introduces a new AusAID managed awards program - Australian Leadership Awards.

 

Foreign Loans

Your government may sponsor your study in Australia under a Foreign Loan Program.

 

Postgraduate Research Scholarships

A number of different types of Postgraduate Research Scholarships are available each year.

 

Sir Edward 'Weary' Dunlop Scholarship

In 1995 Swinburne University of Technology and the City of Stonnington established an annual scholarship which commemorates the life and work of the late Sir Edward "Weary" Dunlop, who was a resident of the City of Stonnington.

The scholarship is open to Higher Education and TAFE students of Swinburne University of Technology who expect to finish their Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor or Honours degree in the year they are applying for the scholarship.


Lilydale Scholarships

The Faculty of Higher Education, Lilydale offers scholarships to assist international students with the cost of studying in Australia and recognising the academic achievements of students.


US and Canadian students

AustraLearn Scholarships

The following AustraLearn scholarships are available to students from the US and Canada:

  • Two USD$500 tuition waivers for students commencing the Swinburne Study Abroad program.

Selection is based on academic merit and a 250-word statement of intention.

Chilean students

Bicentennial Scholarships (Chile)

A partnership between the Government of the Republic of Chile and Universities Australia allows Chilean students to receive substantial financial help to study in Australia.

The Bicentennial Scholarship provides an opportunity for up to 500 successful students to receive a monthly stipend, as well as a contribution towards living and studying expenses.

As part of the application, students will be able to provide three preferences for the institution at which they wish to study.


Indian Students

Victoria India Doctoral Scholarships Program (India)

There are 10 prestigious doctoral scholarships available to scholars from India who will enrol for their PhD in universities in Victoria, Australia in 2012. Scholarship recipients will receive a tuition fee waiver in addition to a scholarship grant of AUD$90,000 over the duration of their PhD study.

The Victoria India Doctoral Scholarships Program is an initiative of the Victorian Government which aims to attract the best and brightest young Indian scholars to Victoria who will contribute to global knowledge and the thriving Indian and Victorian economies and societies and enhance the relationship between India and Australia. The program is managed by the Australia India Institute, working in partnership with the Victorian Government and institutions including Swinburne University of Technology.



Malaysian students

MACC Scholarships 2009 (Malaysia)

The 2009 MACC Scholarship (Malaysia) was awarded to Bridget Annabel KINSIK for the Master of Business (Human Resource Management).

The scholarship is in support of the Malaysia Australia Colombo Plan Commemoration (MACC), and provides funding for a Malaysian citizen to study a masters program of the student's choice in Australia.

The scholarship is valued at up to A$9750 per semester over three consecutive semesters and is awarded on academic merit.


Mexican students

FUNED Postgraduate Scholarships (Mexico)

Swinburne offers four 25 per cent tuition waiver scholarships each year to Mexican students to study at Swinburne in Fundación Mexicana para la Educación, la Tecnología y la Ciencia (FUNED) approved programs.

It enables Mexican college graduates to undertake a master degree locally and overseas to help contribute to the development of Mexico.

Thai students

Australian University Scholarships (Thailand)

The Australian University Scholarships are provided by Australian Education International (AEI) Bangkok and Swinburne International to postgraduate students from Thailand who are commencing a PhD at Swinburne.


Vietnamese students

MOET-VIET Scholarships (Vietnam)

The government Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) provides scholarships to Vietnamese nationals for study in Australia. Scholarships are for study in Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research programs, managed through the Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) office. Swinburne also provides scholarships to MOET under a joint scholarship agreement with MOET-VIED.
