All students are expected to attend these sessions.

ELICOS


If you're studying ELICOS at Swinburne College, you're required to attend two days of orientation before classes start.

You must attend both orientation days otherwise you may not be allowed to commence classes.

Step 3: Commencement information

Why go to the Welcome and Briefing session?

  • Find out what to expect from your course and get an insight into Swinburne student life.
  • Meet people from all over the world, on the campus tour, or sitting next to you.
  • Learn what to expect from your studies and what is expected of you.
  • Find out about the free services and clubs available to you as a Swinburne Student.
  • Ask as many questions as you like about your timetable, enrolment, housing or anything else you may need to sort out before classes begin.

What do I need to carry to Welcome and Orientation sessions?

If you are an ELICOS student, please also ensure you bring the following items:

  • Current address in Australia
  • Previous address overseas (if applicable)
  • Emergency contact in Australia (name and telephone number)
  • Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE)
When you come to Orientation, you will need to bring:

  • Enrolment Online Submission Summary (for students that completed EOL only, if you did not print this previously, you can login here and print)
  • Passport (original)
  • A photocopy of the photo page and the visa page of your passport and/or e-visa
  • Letter of Offer from Swinburne
  • Original or certified copies of transcripts from your previous course/s and a copy of your previous syllabus (if you are seeking exemptions)
  • Any other documentation to satisfy the conditions of your Letter of Offer (e.g. IELTS test score sheet).

Enrolment

this is not for ELICOS students.

You would have received information about enrolment when you accepted your offer.

You may be eligible to complete your enrolment online or attend an enrolment session in person on campus.

Enrol Online (EOL)

If you received notice to enrol online, please visit our website to complete your enrolment.

An online induction quiz is incorported into your enrolment.

All students who enrol online are still required to attend the Welcome and Briefing sessions on-campus.

TAFE Students

NOTE: If you miss online enrolment you will need to enrol face-to-face.

Face-to-face enrolment

Face-to-face enrolment sessions will be held on-campus for students who did not receive notice to enrol online.

You must also complete the online induction quiz as part of your enrolment. The quiz is compulsory if you're not enrolling online.


Online induction quiz

The online induction quiz is part of your enrolment process.

The quiz will provide you with information about free on-campus services, health and safety information and reminders about your student visa conditions.

The quiz is compulsory if you're completing face-to-face enrolment.


University-wide orientation


Swinburne runs a week of orientation activities for all students.

'O Week' is your chance to meet other students (local and international) while taking part in fun activities, making the most of free food and enjoying up the entertainment.
