Aims and objectives

On successful completion of all units of study in Foundation Studies (Science / Engineering), students can progress to the Diploma of Engineering (UniLink). This higher education diploma is designed to prepare students for second-year entry to a related bachelor degree in engineering or ICT.
Alternatively, students can pathway directly to the first year of a bachelor degree with satisfactory completion of nine subjects with a grade point average of 65% or above and an average of 70% or above in Academic and Communication Skills A and B. Students can commence one of the following bachelor degrees:

Successful completion of a related bachelor degree after Foundation Studies (Science/Engineering) can open up a range of career opportunities. Students may find employment in engineering, biotechnology, management, medicine, mining, network administration, telecommunications and transport.

Swinburne College English for Academic Purposes Certificate: EAP 4 Upper Intermediate: 65%; OR, obtaining a minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.5; OR, a TOEFL (Paper-based) minimum score of 513 (with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4); OR, a TOEFL (Internet-based) minimum score of 65, with no individual band below 15. Prerequisites

Completion of Australian Year 11 or equivalent, at a satisfactory level.
