Special Payment Plan – 4 Instalments
Tuition fees for each teaching period are normally due
in two 50 percent instalments. If a student can demonstrate exceptional circumstances, a 4-part payment plan is available.
Semester 2 applications
Applications for Semester 2 must be submitted by Monday 16 June 2008.
Students will be expected to pay 25 per cent of their fee with their application, which will act as the first payment which is due on Tuesday 22 July 2008.
Applications must be made on the Special Payment Plan Application form which is available online or from your nearest Swinburne International office.
Applications should be sent to:

Alternatively, drop your application off at the Swinburne International reception.
Terms and conditions
1. All applications must be submitted with:
- Proof of financial hardship
- A copy of the receipt for 25 per cent of the teaching period payment.
If your parents/caregivers are paying your fees
Please submit a letter from them outlining why they cannot pay the fees in two installments. This letter MUST be attached to the stamped envelope from your home country.
Note: We will only accept facsimiles of letters if they have appropriately marked fax numbers on the top of the fax showing the overseas number that the fax was sent from. No emails will be accepted.
If you are paying your fees
Please submit a recent bank statement, a letter advising of your current circumstances and a copy of the receipt for 25 per cent of your fees as your first payment.
Note that an extension on the basis of term deposit maturation is not accepted as exceptional.
2. Your address on the application must be the same as address listed with the University. Your Tax / Direct Debt Invoice will automatically go to this address. You can update your address on Swinlink.
3. Applications not received by the above due date will not be approved.
4. Submission of this application is not to be taken as approval to pay by instalments.
5. Applications for instalment payments will not be granted if you have:
- Submitted the form after the closing date
- An unpaid liability from Swinburne
- Previously defaulted on financial agreements
- Not supplied sufficient proof of financial hardship
- Not completed the form correctly
- Not enrolled for the full period of the instalment plan.
6. Should approval for the instalment plan be granted, you must pay the instalment amount by the due dates specified.
7. Variations on the due dates under the special payment plan cannot be made.
8. Failure to meet payment may result in withdrawal from your course. You will then be reported to DIAC which may result in your student visa being cancelled.
9. If the instalment is not paid by the due date, a late payment will be applied by the Faculty/School. If your application is approved, you will receive a new Swinburne confirmation
of enrolment and liability statement.
