Anyone for Lentil as Anything?
Have you ever been to a restaurant where you decide what to pay?
It might sound a bit strange, but Lentil as Anything is a bit of a Melbourne institution. And it's a great cause. It's run mostly by volunteers and provides support and training to new migrants, refugees, youth and other people who are struggling to find an opportunity.
Swinburne's Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) program is organising a free city tour and dinner at Lentil as Anything in Abbotsford on Friday 21 August.
CALD is a great way to meet other students and make new friends from all over the world. They also run heaps of free activities and social events throughout the year.
If you want to come along -- or attend our next afternoon tea -- phone (03) 9214 8025 (Hawthorn), (03) 9214 6734 (Prahran) or email Domenica at dgalante@swin.edu.au.

'The whole world is one family', says India Consul-General
The Consul-General of India in Melbourne, Ms Anita Nayar, took time out to attend Swinburne International's mid-year graduation ceremony earlier this month.
"It is an honour to be here at Swinburne, which is a shining example of high-quality education and upholds Australia's reputation as a high-quality education provider."
Ms Nayar said it was great to see so many smiling faces in the audience. She thanked Swinburne for its commitment to the wellbeing of our international students and was impressed with the response to recent safety concerns.
"[Swinburne is] not only looking at addressing short-term concerns but also long-term concerns and it is very heartening to know that they are fully aware of the situation and committed to taking the necessary steps."
As graduates get set to embark on the next stage of their journey, she asked them to remember an old Sanskrit saying that translates to 'the whole world is one family'. "For me it is the essence of multiculturalism and something that all of us could do well to remember."
