Welcome, new students! And a big welcome back to our current students.

Semester 1 is fast approaching — classes start in just a couple of weeks! — so this edition of Student Life Monthly contains useful links to find the info you need to be ready for the academic year.

OSHC Worldcare - stay covered

Did you know OSHC Worldcare is Swinburne's preferred provider of Overseas Student Health Cover?

OSHC logo.OSHC provides health insurance that covers the cost of hospital medical treatment, some pharmaceutical items and ambulance assistance in an emergency.

OSHC Worldcare is on campus at Swinburne every week to assist with:

  • Medical expense claims
  • Changing or renewing your membership
  • Answering all your questions about overseas health cover.

Finding a home that's just right for you takes a bit of time and effort.

The Accommodation Help Desk is a service available to help you find the perfect place.

Help sessions will be held at the Hawthorn campus until 14 March.

Improve your language and academic skills

LAS conversation groupPrepare for the semester ahead by joining in on an English and Study Skills Refresher Course.

The course is a free set of workshops, delivered by Swinburne's Language and Academic Skills (LAS) support teachers will improve your skills for assessment tasks!

The workshops run next week from 14 – 19 February.

Swinburne International Student Survey – announcing the lucky winners!

Swinburne International Student Survey.Swinburne International conducted an online survey of new international students who started their studies between June and October 2009. The survey was undertaken to help us improve our services and to give feedback to our agents to provide better services to future students.

We received about 250 responses and all respondents were put into a draw to win one of five Coles Group Gift Cards valued at $100 each.
